Applied Kinesiology; a magic trick?

Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a diagnostic system developed by chiropractor George Goodheart in 1964.

It evaluates the triad of health: structural, chemical and psychological. Doctors who practice Applied Kinesiology are often chiropractors. However, some doctors, dentists, psychiatrists and other health professionals apply it. Only health care professionals entitled to the diagnosis can be certified to include Applied Kinesiology in their care.

Applied Kinesiology uses manual muscle tests and other standard diagnostic methods to detect imbalances in the body.

Kinesiology is for everyone at any age.

What is Applied Kinesiology?

Applied Kinesiology is a diagnostic method. A chiropractor qualified in Applied Kinesiology uses various treatment methods such as chiropractic adjustments, cranial techniques, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, acupressure, nutrition, diet advice or changes, exercise suggestion and other therapeutic processes to restore the patient's health.

The muscle tests used in Applied Kinesiology are performed using several specific tests that allow real-time observation of motor-sensory reactions (input-output). They are performed using the patient's complete health history, neurological and orthopedic tests and sometimes laboratory tests to understand the patient's problems and how to address them.

Treatment is done on an individual basis for each patient. It is based on the results of an examination with the chiropractor and is re-evaluated at each visit taking into account changes between visits.
